On Friday, June 7, 2024, Linda Anne Cook Mena, a mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many, died suddenly in her home in Tennessee.

Our shock and pain continue as we process the fact she is gone from us and now will be forever missed at the table, at the gatherings and all the special events of our lives.

We will always remember her for her adventurous outlook, her laughter, her gentle spirit, her patience and understanding for those who struggle and for being the person up for just about anything. We will remember Linda as nearly the patron saint for lost animals – and the time she adopted a pot-bellied pig and a very annoying rooster at the same time! We will remember her as the woman in the room who loved to sing and dance. We will remember Linda’s fondness for travel, with Paris being her favorite and Saudi Arabia being her farthest. We will remember how she loved her country and served in the Air Force during the Vietnam Era. We will remember Linda’s years as a private duty nurse and how she became like family to those she helped. In gratitude we will remember how much fun Linda had at East Detroit High School, along with her enduring friendships from that chapter of her life. We will remember how she loved her Lord, her church community and loved to contribute to the efforts of the youth camp program. We, especially, will remember Linda’s favorite thing . . . spending time with her son and all her family.

Our joy lies in her deep belief that we will all be together with her again one day.
